The first Summer of Projects (SoP) was held in Manila, the Philippines, from July 12th to 27th, 2008.
The 2008 SoP edition was hosted and co-sponsored by Rising Era Marketing (REM).
The open attitude of SoP is all about the true spirit of "coming together and get things done" in a dynamic environment with limited resources and enthusiastic participants.
Planned topics included:
- Discussion rounds featuring modernized and streamlined business practices

- The meaning of Web 2.0 and it's application to existing businesses
- Analysis of web site requirements and setup for automated business operation
- Centralized management of a web site network
- Workshops about simplifying and modernizing existing businesses
- Adding globalization to local businesses to expand services
Spanning 16 days, the event was a success with all major goals achieved and only some minor tasks remaining due to unforeseen complications of the bigger ones. All remaining tasks were to be completed during the SoP Follow-Up Weeks, from August 4th to 15th, 2008.
